Introducing the Birch Direwolf Mid-Drive Hunting Electric Fat Tire Bike
The wait is over. After months of engineering, testing, and fine-tuning, we're proud to introduce the Birch Direwolf Mid-Drive Hunting Electric Fat Tire Bike — our most capable, most purpose-built electric hunting bike yet. Designed from the ground up for serious hunters and outdoor adventurers, the Birch Direwolf combines raw power, trail-ready hardware, and UL-certified safety into one relentless machine. Here's everything you need to know.

Power That Doesn't Quit: The Bafang M620 Mid-Drive Motor
At the heart of the Birch Direwolf is the legendary Bafang M620 mid-drive motor — a 48V, 1000W powerhouse that delivers torque directly through the drivetrain for maximum efficiency and control on the toughest terrain. Unlike hub motors that simply push or pull the wheel, the M620's mid-drive placement means you get the full mechanical advantage of your gears, climbing steep grades and powering through mud, snow, and loose trail surfaces with ease.
The Birch Direwolf ships with a factory default speed limit of 20 MPH — fully street-legal for Class 2 ebike compliance — and is adjustable up to 28 MPH for off-road use via throttle activation from zero. The motor is UL-standard compliant, giving you the peace of mind that the system has been independently verified for safety.

A Battery That Goes the Distance
The Birch Direwolf is equipped with a 48V / 25Ah (5000mAh cell) lithium battery pack, built with premium 21700 cells for superior energy density and longevity. With a DC 2.1 charging port and a low-voltage protection threshold set at 40V, the battery management system keeps your pack healthy ride after ride.
The battery is fully UL-compliant and certified for US export — not a self-certified claim, but a verified standard. The 48V / 3A smart charger (compatible with 100V–240V power sources worldwide) keeps charge times reasonable, and the dual power manager (48V / 30A) ensures clean, stable power delivery to the motor under all load conditions.
26" Fat Tires: All-Season, All-Terrain
The Birch Direwolf rolls on 26" × 4.0" fat tires (Shimaicheng C1752, 60 TPI) with stab protection — wide enough to float over snow and sand, aggressive enough to grip mud and roots, and tough enough to shrug off the debris of backcountry trails. Paired with EN-standard 36-hole rims (JSD-10, black) and anti-puncture inner tubes, you won't be hiking out because of a flat.
Front and rear use thru-axle hubs (135mm front, 190mm rear) for rock-solid wheel retention — critical when you're hauling game over rough ground.

Suspension Built for the Backcountry
The Hengmeng inverted front fork (HXF-DT1171LR-A) delivers 180mm of travel — serious suspension that absorbs the unexpected, whether that's a hidden root at trail speed or a rocky descent. The inverted design adds stiffness and reduces unsprung weight compared to conventional forks, keeping the front wheel tracking true when it matters most.
Complementing the fork is a Baseus NCX vibration-damping seatpost (30.9 × 350mm, aluminum), which takes the edge off trail chatter and keeps you comfortable over long rides in the saddle.
Stopping Power: Four-Piston Hydraulic Disc Brakes
The Birch Direwolf uses Baseus E3940 four-piston hydraulic disc brakes with 180mm rotors front and rear — power-off motor cutout included. These are electric-vehicle-dedicated units with aluminum construction, corrosion-resistant hardware, and a three-core brake signal connector (brake signal / GND) that integrates cleanly with the motor system to cut power the instant you squeeze the lever. On a 1000W bike carrying a rider and a full load of gear, you want brakes this serious.
12-Speed Shimano Drivetrain
Shifting duties are handled by a Shimano Deore M6100 12-speed rear derailleur paired with a Shimano M6100 right-hand trigger shifter — the same drivetrain spec you'll find on premium trail mountain bikes. The 12-speed cassette gives you an enormous gear range, keeping you spinning efficiently whether you're cruising flat terrain or grinding up a steep ridge. The system is paired with an e-specific 12-speed chain (Guimeng Coens e12-T, EPT rust-resistant coating) for durability under the higher torque loads of electric assist.
Lights, Racks, and Hunting-Ready Features
The Birch Direwolf isn't just a powerplant on wheels — it's a complete hunting platform:
Front and rear lights are integrated into the motor system via dedicated wiring (Bafang-matched headlight and taillight harnesses). The 12V QD472 headlight and 6–48V WD220-2 taillight use UL-compliant wiring manufactured to US standards, with front fork mounting hardware included.
Front and rear racks (Tianjin Qiansheng) are purpose-designed for the Birch Direwolf's hunting configuration, giving you multiple attachment points for gear bags, game carriers, and accessories. A folding ladder step (Hengtong HLZJ-06WG) makes mounting easier when you're loaded up in the field.
Full reflector kit — front, rear, and wheel-mounted reflectors — meets CPSC standards for US road and trail use.
A Shimano-compatible 40T chainring with chain guard, combined with a 12-speed cassette, gives you the gearing range to handle virtually any terrain the Birch Direwolf will encounter.

Safety You Can Verify: UL-Certified Components
The Birch Direwolf is built to the UL 2849 electrical system standard for electric bicycles — not just individual components, but the integrated system. Key UL-certified and UL-compliant elements include:
- Bafang M620 motor — UL standard compliant
- Main harness — UL standard, conforms to US standards
- Display / meter (DP C010.C) — UL standard compliant for US export
- 48V / 25Ah battery pack — UL certified for US export
- Dual power manager — UL wire specification
- Headlights and taillights — UL-compliant wires, US manufacture
- Charger (DPLC165V55-M) — meets US standards, ROHS/EN compliant
This isn't window dressing. Every electrical component in the Birch Direwolf's power system has been specified to UL standards, making the Birch Direwolf compliant with the emerging wave of UL certification requirements now being mandated in New York City, California, and other major markets.
Built Tough, Finished Right
The Birch Direwolf chassis is a sand black aluminum frame (Tianjin Shengming), treated to an eight-sided central placement configuration for strength and rigidity where it counts. The camouflage colorway is purpose-built for hunters who want to disappear into the landscape — not stand out on a trail.
Details matter: sand black handlebars (740mm wide, reinforced ends), a vibration-damping aluminum seatpost, rubber grip covers, a single aluminum bicycle bell, and a complete tool kit (Allen wrenches M2.5 through M6, open-end wrenches, Phillips screwdriver) ship in the box. The seven-layer corrugated packaging is built to handle the rigors of shipping a machine this substantial.
